Volunteer for Labor in the Pulpits
Labor Day provides a unique opportunity for both the religious community and working families to rediscover their common bonds: social and economic justice; equality, dignity and respect for all people; and fair treatment in the workplace. This year, we have an opportunity to celebrate the faith community’s important role in supporting workers as they struggle to address the staggering lack of affordable housing for working families here in Silicon Valley.
We need people like you to help bring the voices of workers into the faith community in Santa Clara County. Please sign up if you can:
- Speak at a service
- Share your story
- Help with delivery and pick up of materials
Labor in the Pulpits will take place over Labor Day weekend, September 1st, 2nd and 3rd, with training for speakers provided the last week in August. Speakers typically have 3-5 minutes, so volunteering takes about an hour of your time (though you're welcome to help us out all day).
